Refining the blocking pass

Walking in a heavy wind - Refining Blocking Pass from Matt Long on Vimeo.

Here is the same animation, this time taken a step further with more breakdown poses. This week I'm finishing and polishing it up.

Hey Matt!
Thanks for your nice comment! Sorry I haven't been blogging lately--been a bit busy with other stuff. ^_^

I laughed when the paper hit the guy's face on your animation. :D Take care!

Wooo! Looks good man. One thing though: and you may not even care at this point...Or, more likely, not value my insight as usual, hahaha.

When that paper hit his face it seems a little too constrained. His footwork before the paper is so loose and seemingly unpredictable; looks awesome! He just seems to gain his balance too easily after the paper hits him (a time when he should be the most unbalanced/unpredictable). I was thinking of something like a quick, blurred, cartoony back pedal, in-place. Maybe some flailing arms too, haha.

Anyways, that's all I got to say about that...Talkuma approves.
